Community musician

Catherine is an experienced community musician, trainer and arts development manager. She trained at Goldsmiths College, CM, Midi Music and Ovatones. She is a member of the Natural Voice Network, former chair of Sound Sense and current chair of Culture &. A lifelong social worker /manager with over twenty years community music service experience, including training and lecturing as well as facilitating short and longer term groups and work with individuals. Experienced with younger people in pupil referral units and other challenging circumstances such as disabilities, asylum seekers, refugees and homelessness services. Also early years work and providing INSET training. Catherine has considerable music experience supporting adults with mental health needs, adults in the community. Trained and experienced in working with people living with additional health conditions such as cancer, dementias, stroke, Parkinson’s, breathing difficulties. Transnational project experience, inaugural recipient of the ISME Gibson award for Community based music education projects. She has a specialist interest in the menopause.
